Guiyang Taiping Kiln firing technique has been mainly handed down in Natural Village of Taipingfang, Chayuan Village, Tangshi Town, Guiyang County. Its pottery production originated from the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasties, and still retains the tradition inherited by the Li’s Family to this day.
The Taiping Kiln in Guiyang originally only produced a single type of saggar pottery, but later developed into multiple categories such as pottery tiles, wine pots, teapots, bowls, pickle jars, wine jars, and water tanks. Inherited to the present day, the Taiping Kiln firing technique is becoming increasingly exquisite, and its products mainly include pottery decorations, tableware, and tea sets.
In 2018, Guiyang Taiping Kiln firing technique was included on the fifth representative list of municipal intangible cultural heritage items. In 2021, it was included on the fifth representative list of provincial intangible cultural heritage items.
